In the framework of the project “𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 – 𝐔𝐩𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐢𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐜𝐨 𝐌𝐢𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬” supported by the World Church Service (CWS), the Rural Community Development Agency (RCDA) developed, in the Kavta community of Tsalka Municipality and Ghorjomi community of Khulo Municipality, two demonstration green, low-carbon-footprint model farms, equipped with: composting bin, animal manure platform, solar water heater, briquetting machine, fuel-efficient stoves, solar dryer for fruits and vegetables, solar house heating systems (thermosyphons), rainwater harvesting system, grey water filter, water filter, and drip irrigation system attached to rainwater harvesting system. The development of model farms will be followed by training on organizing low-carbon-footprint livelihoods models.
Beneficiaries were also equipped with solar water heaters. solar fruits and vegetable dryers were installed by small business groups supported by the Rural Development Agency (RCDA). Solar dryers are a good way to generate income for women and especially young people. In addition energy- efficient stoves were delivered to the project beneficiaries.
